IS COMMITTED TO DELIVERING:
Our client is responsible for delivering high quality, clinically-led diagnostic testing services, delivered in fully accredited laboratories, for both Public and Private Healthcare providers.
They have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Commercial Solicitor (with strong contracts and drafting experience) to work under the direction of the Commercial Director, where you will assist in providing expert legal and commercial advice across the business.
Duties and Responsibilities include:
- Negotiate, draft and review a range of commercial contracts including customer and supplier agreements, consulting agreements, letters of intent, non-disclosure agreements, and other similar documents.
- Build effective commercial customer and supplier relationships and be the commercial lead for allocated sites/ projects/ opportunities.
- Act as commercial and legal interface and subject matter expert to all internal stakeholders, providing efficient commercial, contractual and legal advice, updates and training as required.
- Ensure all stakeholders, including contract management, operations and finance, clearly understand and adhere to the terms of executed contracts.
- Identify and mitigate commercial risks and resolve commercial issues across sites as they arise.
- Provide commercial and legal input into new business opportunities including commercial/ legal oversight of responses to NHS and private sector tenders and requests for proposals.
- Work with the Commercial Informatics team to develop optimal pricing strategies for new business negotiations.
- Provide oversight of the legal due diligence and contract preparation process in relation to new organisational acquisitions.
- Work with Finance team to input into the cost budgeting/ forecasting process in relation to contractual arrangements.
- Provide senior management briefings on commercial matters when required, including input into the Board reporting processes.
- Support the development and/or implementation of robust commercial processes across the business.
Desired Skills and Experience
- 5+ years' senior experience in a commercial environment or 3+ PQE operating as a Commercial Lawyer.
- Experience negotiating and drafting complex commercial contracts and resolving contractual and commercial problems.
- Excellent technical drafting and document writing abilities.
- Demonstrated analytical and financial capabilities.
- A high degree of independence, flexibility and energy with a pragmatic down to earth approach.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the health sector (desirable).
- Experience working with NHS and/or private sector health providers (desirable) but not essential.
