A General Counsel role leading a team and acting as the trusted adviser to the Senior management team on strategic corporate commercial matters including all future M&A transactions.

Detailed Job Description
Now, the organisation is exploring the market to appoint a General Counsel. Reporting to the CFO and working alongside the Executive and Management board, the incumbent will be the trusted legal advisor to the senior management team in all corporate and commercial matters. In addition you will have the management of all general legal advice across the group and the legal team whose responsibilities include:
- Managing corporate transactions including M&A
- All general commercial contractual agreements
- IP and licensing arrangements
- Dealing with and assessing the risk on employment and litigation matters
- Mitigation of legal risk and advising on regulatory, compliance, data protection and anti-bribery
- Oversight of any corporate governance issues including company secretary duties
Candidate's Profile
The successful candidate will have significant corporate and commercial experience, in particular in M&A with PLC and/or Listing experience. Furthermore you should be able to demonstrate:
- Sound judgement under speed and pressure
- The ability to deliver at pace
- A concise, decisive and clear approach to offering legal advice
- The gravitas to influence all levels of stakeholder
- A willingness to turn your hand to the vast range of legal issues
Whilst a background in either the Pharmaceutical, Manufacturing or FMCG sectors would be an advantage, more crucial is your ability to offer pragmatic and highly commercial advice that is likely to have been developed in a previous senior position In House.
