Legal Counsel

A growing telecoms business is looking for a Legal Counsel. This is due to increased growth in recent years (the business now has a turnover exceeding £100m) and the need for strong contractual governance, especially when dealing with their FTSE 100/250 clients.

The new role of Legal Counsel has been created to cope with the growing demands of those FTSE 100/250 clients and it is seen as a key appointment within the business. The role was previously combined within operations but will now standalone in its' own right.

The role will include managing commercial contract activity such as review, drafting (liaising with external company lawyers when necessary), negotiating terms and conditions. The Legal Counsel will also need to communicate with suppliers, customers, purchasing and sales staff to ensure that the risk to the business is minimised.

This important role reports into the Executive Director of Operations and will be part of a new Legal function within the business. This would allow the potential candidate to develop and grow the legal function in line with the ambitious plans of the business.

The ideal individual will have at least 2 years' of experience within a Legal Counsel role, preferably within the telecoms industry, and experience of working within a complex products/service environment. Aside from this the Legal Counsel will need to integrate with, and build relationships, with both internal teams and clients.
