This employer of choice in the City of Bath are seeking a Commercial Executive Paralegal with experience of drafting contracts and commercial negotiation skills, to join their Commercial team. This job is an excellent opportunity for an astute individual from a legal, surveying and or contract procurement background to move into a specialised position within commercial management and administration.

Your new role
This is a contracts focussed construction legal position, as part of a well-established internal legal function. For the first 6 months you will be based in the Bath office, before transferring to either of one of the companies vibrant offices in Hong Kong or Mumbai. You will prepare contracts, agreements, deeds, orders, notices, statements and other documentation, you will also undertake appointment and contract reviews and advise on pre and post-contract issues and claims (entitlements) under direction. Additionally, you will build relationships with numerous relevant internal business units, becoming one of the primary points of contact for the business.

What you'll need to succeed
This is an excellent opportunity for a paralegal or legal assistant seeking a new challenge with an ambition to work internationally. You will have a strong commercial approach and exposure in the construction/engineering sector. You will come from either a reputable law firm or relevant in-house environment, and be adept at advising a wider business on contracts issues in the construction industry, with strong commercial negotiation skills. You will likely have experience in a comparable role and environment, however the opportunity may also appeal to a construction professional at the early stages in their career who wishes to diversify into law. You will ideally have a law degree/GDL/LPC, or a degree in a Quantity Surveying or Engineering discipline with a second degree/qualification or interest in Law willing to undertake a second qualification.
