Technical Claims Handler

This is an exceptional opportunity to join an ambitious ABS Law Firm in Cheadle, Stockport as a Technical Claims Handler. This FNOL team is being created to support the business growth and claims volumes experienced at the Cheadle office. It will be supported by the established teams in Mansfield. This opportunity is to work as part of a new team managing building repair claims.

You will:

• Have experience of dealing with technical and complex property claims.
• Be able to review and determine insurer liability through the gathering of facts and assimilation of all relevant information.
• Support less experienced team members through coaching and guidance.
• Have experience of claims handling within a target driven environment.
• Have knowledge of working within an insurance sector.
• Be experienced at complying with key performance targets, working to deadlines and delivering results against targets.
• Be comfortable using the telephone for information gathering and negotiation.
• Have solid negotiation skills.
• Be customer focused and driven to deliver client service excellence.
• Be focused on achieving the best settlement outcome.
• Comply with Data Protection and FSA Regulations at all times.
• Work to Service Level Agreements and performance targets.
• Be able to interpret policy liability.
• Apply accurate claims reserve.
• Repudiate claims where necessary.
• Understand how to set claims value and negotiate and settle claims within that bracket.
• Identify fraud claim warning signs and act as a fraud referral point for team members.
• Be a strong communicator and team player.
• Have good IT and keyboard skills.
