Our client a well-recognised company, are recruiting a large legal team to be based in their Sheffield office.

Description

As a key member of the Employment Team in Group Legal and Compliance (GLC) this role will partner closely with HR and other key stakeholders to provide employment law advice, guidance and solutions in a commercially focussed and understandable way, and to ensure that all strategic, legal, operational and transactional goals are met in accordance with the needs of the business and objectives of GLC.

To ensure the provision of robust, clear and commercially focused legal advice specifically in the specialist area of employment law (including industrial relations) ensuring alignment with business needs and GLC objectives and effectively identifying, assessing and managing risk.

To liaise with other GLC teams to provide specialist advice as necessary.

To develop, maintain and ensure effective relationships with key stakeholders in HR (and other functions and the business).

Proactively identifying, developing and leading on the delivery of training programmes and guidance documents to up-skill stakeholders on a range of employment law issues utilising both internal and external resources.

To support and assist in advising relevant stakeholders, steering committees, and business management teams on employment law risks.

To advise and support on the application of the TUPE Regulations including, where required, the drafting and negotiating of any TUPE provisions in contractual documentation.

Ensuring appropriate and focussed legal input to project teams, through presence at project meetings/steering groups and by procuring and delivering employment law advice in the most appropriate format.

Supporting the Legal Director, Employment in all reporting and MI requirements to key stakeholders, General Counsel and as required. Taking a proactive role in identifying valuable ways to utilise MI to drive business change and reduce risk. To outsource legal work as appropriate, robustly managing quality and cost.

To proactively focus on product development including weekly Employment News Summary email, bite size guides of developing areas of law, establishing structured and timetabled reviews of precedents and assisting with development of internal know-how through appropriate resources.

Profile

Applicants should have 2-4 years post qualification advising on various aspects of employment legislation.
