My client is an innovative international law firm who have expanded through organic growth. You will strategically manage the HR Department and implement best practice and globally consistent HR policies, processes and standards throughout the organisation that manage every aspect of employee development and employee relations in order to maximise the performance of the firm's human resources. You will be leading, mentoring and developing the HR team across the network of international offices. This is a very exciting role allowing the successful candidate to fundamentally change the way HR is perceived and delivered within the firm.
Your responsibilities as HR Director will include
- acting as an agent for change by recommending forward thinking HR strategies,policies and practices to the Global Managing Partner
- ensuring policies and procedures are rolled out across the firm consistently
- monitoring job roles and the organisational structure of the firm to ensure its effectiveness in a changing environment
- putting policies in place to ensure compliance with local regulatory requirements and employment laws, including workplace discrimination issues and equal employment opportunity laws
- developing and implementing a Career Development Framework to support improved business performance in conjunction with the firm's appraisal process
- working with partners and department heads to spot potential successors early, developing a programme so they are ready to take on leadership positions within the firm
- developing an effective employment brand and resourcing strategy
- ensuring HR staff globally work to a high standard and are adequately motivated and supported to fulfil their purpose
- establishing a robust HR operating platform and respected HR team with clearly articulated service lines and standards
- developing and managing the firm’s performance management, appraisal and reward systems including reviewing the goal-based appraisal process for associates to provide a more consistent and robust process to underpin a new differentiated salary and bonus system
- coaching partners and executives to develop their leadership agenda
To be successful you will need to be able to demonstrate
- will come from a professional services background with experience of working in a
- partnership environment, ideally a law firm.
- have developed and implemented HR strategy in an international firm.
- have developed, implemented and ensured consistent compliance of robust HR methodologies and processes across a firm, while providing flexibility for specific local requirements and regulations.
- have led, mentored and developed an HR team across a number of offices
- have demonstrated the ability to build relationships with partners and senior management.
- have managed change, overcoming objections in a constructive and empathetic manner
The role can be located in either London or Dublin.
