Compliance Lawyer

Are you a junior or mid level lawyer who is interested in a move in house? A West Midlands based global business has an opportunity for a lawyer to join their established team and work with the Compliance Manager on Compliance matters. We are interested in hearing from individuals already undertaking this type of role, alternatively a background in commercial contracts, regulatory, commercial litigation or competition law would be considered to be a good skill set to transition into this type of position.

Our client is one of the most successful businesses in the Midlands. With an established legal and compliance team based in the West Midlands they are working in conjunction with BCL Legal to appoint a lawyer to focus on compliance matters.

Reporting into the Compliance Manager in the business and forming part of a legal and compliance team, you will advise the business across all compliance matters, relating to group policies and procedures, general legal compliance, Anti-Corruption, Antitrust, Competition Law and Corporate Conduct. 

Working at the heart of the business, this position will be very hands on and multi-faceted and your key responsibilities will include: 
- Understand the organisational standard operating procedures and ensuring adherence by the UK business.
- Work along side the UK legal and compliance team to roll out new and impending compliance legislation including conducting training. 
- Supporting the business to administer compliance and legislation changes. 
- Be a main point of contact for all compliance queries from the UK and wider Group. 
- Be heavily involved with regulatory issues and compliance. 

The ideal candidate will be a qualified solicitor from leading law firm or in-house organisation. Although previous experience of undertaking a compliance position is desirable we are very keen to hear from individuals with a background in commercial contracts, regulatory, commercial litigation or competition law which we would consider to be a good skill set to transition into this type of position. You will have lots of exposure to all areas of the business as this is a very client facing role - excellent communication skills are a must.
