Description

Review, draft and negotiate various contracts, including new customer contracts to support new and bespoke business products and arrangements as well as long-term power and other purchase contracts

Conduct contract negotiations with existing and new customers and their advisers

Provide legal advice and support to business colleagues in the negotiation and completion of commercial and related terms of contracts and long term import and export agreements

Provide advice on financial security arrangements

Provide legal advice on resolution of commercial disputes

Below is the job description for the role but the client does not excpect candidtes to have experience in all areas.

Provide legal advice on compliance with energy market related legislation, including Licence Obligations and industry codes and associated legislation and ensure that advice is current and compliant with prevailing regulatory framework by maintaining current knowledge through regulatory and other updates from internal and external sources.

Advise business colleagues on regulatory issues such as ROCs, LECs, REGOs and changes such as EMR, REMIT etc.

Manage and monitor in a professionally and commercially effective manner the outsourcing of legal work for the UK-Europe Retail team to external advisors.

Review, drafting and periodically update standard Terms & Conditions for all areas of the B2B Energy Sector

Support other members of the legal team and the business more generally in legal matters affecting the business including financial, corporate and regulatory matters.

Provide support to the Head of Legal Energy Solutions and other members of the Legal Department with all other matters as requested

Ensure, in conjunction with the other members of the Legal Department, the provision of a full legal service and legal compliance for the company within the applicable law.

Provide general legal advice on day to day operational matters.

Profile

Essential

      • Experience of working in the UK commercial sector
      • A minimum of three years post qualification experience

Desirable

      • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a small team environment
      • Experience of the legal and regulatory framework for UK gas and electricity retail operations and wider gas and electricity markets in the UK

The level of salary will be dependant upon level of experience.
