Senior Legal Counsel

Great opportunity for a Senior Legal Counsel to join a leading name in the entertainment sector, based in the heart of Central London. This is a nine month contract to cover maternity leave.

About the Role

Working in a small and collegiate legal team, your remit will include the following:

• Drafting and negotiating a range of commercial contracts relating to rights, licenses, distribution, JVs and production. This agreements are for both the UK business as well as international operations.
• Assisting with corporate and M&A matters
• Playing a key role in advising on the Group's intellectual property issues
• Working closely with a range of departments across the business (in particular production, marketing, finance, HR and IT) to provide strategic and commercially-focused advice
• Providing internal legal training as well as managing relationships with external counsel

About You

The Senior Legal Counsel role requires an individual with extensive commercial contracts experience, ideally gained within an in-house environment. The client believes that at least six years' PQE will be required to undertake the duties associated with the role but applications from all levels will be considered on merit. You must have the flexibility to switch between working on complex, big-ticket matters and then dealing with routine issues, all within any given day. You must be a team-player with a positive attitude towards your work. Applications from foreign-qualified lawyers will be considered, if you have already worked in the UK.

This role requires a quick turnaround so individuals on more than two weeks' notice in their current role cannot be considered. Ideally you will be immediately available.
