THE FIRM

A leading international firm with an excellent reputation in energy and commodities work.

THE ROLE

  • The firm provides transactional trade and commodities advice to commodity traders on a range of types of trade, advising on gas and power contracts; derivatives and netting agreements.

  • The trade related practice overlaps with a trade regulatory practice which provides a range of ad hoc regulatory advice. Areas covered are EMIR, MiFID II and a lot of work on the trade sanctions side. The team advises shipping clients on sanctions provisions of their financing documents and energy intensive companies on their emissions/environmental trading rules. It also provides regular anti bribery and corruption reports

  • An energy projects practice advising on a range of contracts for energy projects. These include gas supply contracts, power purchase contracts, O&M contracts for power stations and storage contracts for oil and other commodities.

THE PERSON

* 6PQE+ solicitor with strong commodities experience

* Looking to work part time - suggested 3 or 4 days a week
