This City based International law firm wish to recruit a junior level Legal Biller, who is able to work to strict deadlines unsupervised and who can prioritise and manage workloads to often tight deadlines. Reporting to the Revenue Manager, you will be responsible for all aspects of billing for the London office. Duties include;

·         Ensuring bills are sent out in compliance with VAT and Solicitors' Accounts Rules and processed within the deadline set by the firm

·         Applying established and developed knowledge, review and process pre-billing documentation according to attorney instruction and  departmental procedures; collaborate with Partners to define needs; and ensure relevant parties are kept informed and up to date

·         Preparation and processing of some of the more complex London office bills with VATable and non-VATable markets

·         Maintain Excel spreadsheets for billing analysis reports

·         Liaising with the Revenue managers with regard to billing (and occasionally) collections for the London office

·         Meeting and building relationships with partners, associates and secretaries regarding their WIP, collections and general billing queries

·         Regular meetings with the London office's credit controllers responsible for the collection of particular bills

·         Dealing with all receipts for bills and applying in compliance with the Solicitors' Accounts Rules

·         Provide support for accounts payable and office accounts and provide cover during staff absence for those sections when required

 

The position will appeal to a confident, motivated individual with excellent written and oral communication skills. To be considered for this opportunity you will have 1-2 years legal billing experience within an International law firm environment and ideally have a working knowledge of Elite 3E or Aderant.
