Restructuring and Insolvency Associate

Our Client’s highly-rated Restructuring and Insolvency team has an opportunity for an able and ambitious Associate with experience of financial restructuring and insolvency.

About the role

You will be based in London as one of the teams within the Banking and Finance Group, as well as working with other practices and offices across the firm. This allows a collegiate and fluid working approach which provides the best outcomes for our clients and also a friendly and supportive working atmosphere.

This is a broad and varied role – the work includes matters relating to financial restructuring (acting for debtors and creditors), formal insolvency, distressed investments (including loan portfolio sales and acquisitions as well as business acquisitions and work-outs), as well as financing issues for pension schemes. A lot of our mandates are cross-border. 

About you

The successful candidate will be:

1. 1-4 years post-qualification experience is required, preferably at a respected City firm
2. expected to be a strong team-player
3. expected to participate in business development and technical know-how as well as the transactional work. 
4. experienced in both financial restructuring transactions and non-contentious insolvency matters.

Desirable

You would ideally have:

• Familiarity with LMA and other finance documentation as well as experience of handling multi-jurisdictional transactions. 
• an understanding of typical financing structures and an ability to analyse them from a restructuring perspective;
• experience of devising and advising on contingency plans for debtors and creditors; and
• be familiar with the key insolvency issues and their application in in different scenarios.
