We are currently working on a fantastic opportunity for a Residential Development solicitor to join a highly regarded Law firm in Leeds. This award winning firm are genuinely an employer of choice and will offer the opportunity to both work with other highly experienced professionals as well as being able to take primary responsibility for some of your own matters. The firm is well-respected and has developed a strong culture based on attracting talented people who want to build their career with them and are very well known in the Leeds market. They have a great reputation for being an enjoyable place to work and one where employees stay long-term, furthermore there is the potential for them to consider a 4 day week or some homeworking if required.
The role
The role offers a broad range of residential development work including but not limited to; site acquisitions and disposals, funding documentation, and infrastructure agreements. This role focusses exclusively on residential development work as firm have a separate commercial property team.
Despite not being one of the national firms you have the 'luxury' of a planning team and a construction team, both of whom you will work closely.
Clients include national and local developers, landowners and registered providers.
You will be working closely alongside the 2 existing partners in the team and there is plenty of junior support there, ensuring that you will be working at the right level.
The firm are keen to appoint someone who can take on some of the management and support of more junior team members, you will take a lead role with the work and provide support to more junior colleagues. They are very team orientated and often work closely on matters to help each other out and support each other, meaning that if you are away from the office there is still plenty of support on your work.
Whilst they have a great reputation within the sector and an extremely diverse client base they are always looking to grow this and will encourage you, as with others within the team, to get involved in business development, both by delivering first rate service to existing client and working with the team and business development department to identify and develop new contacts.
This firm have a very positive and flexible approach and have people who work 4 day weeks, or who work from home on specific days, this is something that they are very happy to discuss
The candidate
Our client are ideally looking for someone who has upwards of 3 years PQE, and perhaps as senior as 10-12 years pqe.
They are really looking for someone who can come in and hit the ground running in terms of being able to run whole transactions, lead negotiations etc.
Commercial Property experience is needed and knowledge of the house building sector is desirable but not essential as they are happy to offer training to someone with strong experience
They are looking for someone who has excellent standards when it comes to client delivery and service, and who is genuinely a team player. Personality fit is important to them and they are looking for someone who is very down to earth and sociable.
