My client is a market leading insurance firm based in Central London. They are looking for a qualified lawyer to join the team to handle a broad range of non-litigation orientated duties. Ideally, you will come from a (re)insurance background, either from Practice or from another in-house role.

You will report directly into the General Counsel, who is an excellent person to learn from and work with. The work will range from Corporate M&A-type work for any acquisitions made /mooted, through to general commercial contract negotiation, distribution agreements, regulatory work (across a variety of global jurisdictions), coverage issues, wording, (re)insurance contracts and much more.

From a commercial maturity perspective you will have 2-8 years of PQE (or equivalent) and ideally admitted in UK jurisdiction (though others will be considered). The only prerequisites are good knowledge / experience in insurance and a desire to learn. The environment there shares many synergies with that of a start-up organization so you must thrive in an environment that is challenging and changing. This is an opportunity where you will see the direct impact of work you've done and genuinely influence business direction and strategy, whilst being visible to the most senior levels of management.

The company business model is truly unique and their pedigree and standing in the market is unquestionable. They are widely regarded as one of the most agile and entrepreneurial businesses in the market, and their hierarchical structure is reflected in this. The environment is effervescent and dynamic, the work is exceptionally interesting, the exposure is broad and the learning curve will be steep! Your exposure to senior management will be frequent, including Founder / Board members.
