The client I am representing is a global (re)insurer seeking an adept lawyer for an exceptional role that is hugely interesting from both a technical and commercial perspective. The obligations are to structure extremely sophisticated and complex reinsurance deals, working with globally dispersed, senior  stakeholders.

The role requires a mixture of corporate insurance knowledge, plus some regulatory understanding and, finally, the design and development of complex contract wordings. This is a role that requires the individual to "get their head up" and work closely with senior management, underwriters, brokers and various other non-legal stakeholders that act as part of the deal-making mechanism.

Once this is understood and structured it is imperative to ensure that it is compliant with relevant regulatory requirements. The final part is the legal wording to reflect the deal, ensuring that it is robust, reflects the intention of the deal, and protects relevant parties with well-defined coverage.

This is a truly global firm operating closely with a number of (re)insurers and intermediaries globally. Consequently, this role requires someone that welcomes forging and fostering enduring business relationships. Additionally, you must be very strong from a technical legal perspective due to the complex structuring of the deals. This is a highly rewarding and extremely intellectually stimulating environment. The client expects a 2:1 or above from a good university, plus demonstrable track record of achievement occupationally, either in Practice or in-house.
