Locum Litigation Solicitor

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Locum Litigation Solicitor to join a Local Authority in East Anglia.

This position will be offered as a short term role initially for 3 months but has the possibility of being extended beyond this. It is a full time role however candidates with flexible working requirements are still encouraged to apply.

Applications are welcome from Qualified Solicitors, Barristers, Legal Executives and non-qualified Lawyers who have the relevant experience working within a Local Government organisation.

Duties and responsibilities include:

• Managing a mixed caseload of criminal and civil litigation matters
• Criminal cases will include housing litigation, fly tipping, trading standards, licensing
• Civil cases to include debt recovery such as disputes and commercial debt
• Issuing and investigating claims and defending counter claims
• Progressing cases to trial and negotiating on behalf of the local authority
• Use of the case management system
• Attending Court and tribunals, undertaking advocacy where required

This role offers a rate of £30-£40 per hour, dependant on experience.
