Are you approaching qualification in 2017 and looking to qualify into Construction Law? Is there unlikely to be a role in the Summer at your current firm or are you thinking that now is the perfect time to make a move on qualification?

We are working with a Birmingham law firm who are looking to recruit a Construction/Projects Solicitor and they would consider candidates who are approaching qualification, including trainees qualifying in summer 2017.

You would be working for a national firm, with offices across the country. This would be a purely non-contentious role, working on advisory construction and projects work. You would sit closely with the contentious construction team and real estate colleagues.

The team acts for a mix of public and private sector clients and you would be getting stuck into big ticket work from day one. They also encourage juniors to build relationships with clients themselves - so it isn't all Partner driven relationships.

The typical work that you / the team work on are:

• Assisting and advising on the construction process from the outset including tendering and drafting of initial contracts
• Drafting industry specific construction contracts such as NEC and JCT contracts
• Assisting on risk management
• Working closely with other teams such as the Corporate team on corporate support work (i.e. due diligence and any relevant warranties/clauses in corporate acquisition documents)
• General day-to-day advisory and ad hoc legal work

Profile

Ideally you will have completed a 6 month seat in Construction / Projects and will have a passion for this area of law. Our client will consider candidates with differing levels of PQE.
