We are working with a Birmingham law firm who are looking to bring a property solicitor on board to work alongside the head of department in a small and established commercial property team.
Client Details
A national private practice, one of the market leaders in public sector legal advice.
Description
We are working with a Commercial Property team who are looking for a real estate solicitor who is perhaps at a crossroads and thinking about doing something different. This would suit a solicitor who is possibly frustrated with the monotomy of working the long-hours in a corporate law firm acting for large corporate clients. You may have been thinking about making the move in-house or switching to a private practice with a different focus.
This firm is a full service commercial law firm but with a different client base and thus a different approach to legal advice. They have a stronghold in the public sector market, particularly healthcare and NHS work. The firm acts on big ticket work from corporate advice through to inquests and regulatory work.
The real estate team works as a national team and they specifically need somebody to come on board to their small team in Birmingham. You would be acting for a public sector client base, so some of the client considerations and motivations would be different but you would still be doing top level real estate work - including landlord and tenant, leasehold renewals, development work together with specific public sector projects.
What they can offer you:
- working within a small team so the chance to make an impact in a growing Birmingham office
- complete support / development from senior lawyers to assist with any sector nuances that you need to learn (unless of course you already have public sector experience)
- a clear bonus scheme that pays out and is linked to chargeable hours
- a very busy caseload, so no concerns over mid to long term pipeline
- an excellent culture and working environment - the client demands are different so you won't be chained to your desk until 8pm everyday
- top quality property work, acting on national and market leading projects
Profile
You'll be a property solicitor with at least 1 or 2 years' experience in property law. Ideally you will have experience in or an interest in the public sector but this isn't essential as the firm will fully get you up to speed in this regard and many of their recruits into Birmingham have come in with no sector experience.
Job Offer
Competitive and genuine progression opportunities.
