Regulatory Paralegal

Our client is independently rated by The Legal 500 and Chambers Directory as one of the leading providers of legal services within health and social care, professional discipline and social housing. They are currently recruiting a paralegal to join their Regulatory team which comprises over 20 fee earners and acts for regulatory bodies, investigating and prosecuting fitness to practise cases, and handling appeals and strategic issues for them. This is a permanent role offering a starting salary of £18,000 working Monday to Friday 9.00am to 5.30pm and the successful candidate will assist on regulatory casework.

Duties will include:

• Supporting fee earners in aspects of their casework;
• Working to an annual chargeable hours target;
• Witness liaison;
• Preparing witness statements;
• Instructing experts;
• Putting together trial bundles;
• Attending conferences with Counsel/experts/clients;
• Attending hearings before statutory committees

This is an excellent opportunity for somebody who wants to take on more responsibility and have a varied caseload in a fast paced but supportive environment.

Candidates should ideally have:

• LPC or BVC qualification;
• Previous experience working as a paralegal
• Ideally current/recent experience of working for regulators/within the regulatory arena;
• Good drafting skills;
• Good communication skills.

Candidates will also be expected to demonstrate at interview that they have good attention to detail, are well organised, able to work well under pressure, proactive; and self-motivated.
