Private Client Solicitor / Associate – A private client solicitor or Associate with approximately 1-4 PQE or above is currently sought by this leading regional firm. Our client is a full-service law firm with a particularly strong private client department which advises a range of clients (including high net worth individuals) on a full spectrum of private client matters including probate, wills and trusts as well as tax implications.

• Salary: £35,000 - £47,000 (DoE)
• Reports to: Partner – Head of Private Client
• Previous Experience: Applicants will be expected to demonstrate around 1-4 years PQE in wills, probate and trusts work. The team also advises successful high net worth individuals especially those with owner-managed family businesses on issues such as progression planning.

THE PRIVATE CLIENT TEAM

This is a niche, specialist team operating within a leading national commercial firm. The Manchester office is looking to hire an Associate with 1 PQE or more. Ideal candidates will have already gained a good grounding in Private Client work as well as having a real passion for this area of law.

The team is relatively small and ‘collegiate’. What sets this team apart is that they work very closely with the high net worth corporate and commercial clients of the firm as well as having as well as attracting their own work. In this sense, the team does not operate in a vacuum, but aims to provide a seamless offering to an enviable client base.

Indeed, they provide private client advice to some of the top business people in the North West as well as further afield.  

WHAT THEY ARE LOOKING FOR

Bright, technical and enthusiastic lawyers with a keen eye for detail and a genuine emphasis on client service. Candidates will be expected to have gained experience in most areas of private client work, such as wills and probate, drafting lasting Powers of Attorney as well as dealing with the administration of trusts and estates.

The team is involved in advising on a considerable amount of complex and high value estate planning work as well as succession planning, as noted above. Applicants need to demonstrate a strong understanding of legal concepts, whilst also showing their ability to give sound commercial advice.

Given the range of clients, candidates must also be adept at advising clients and tailoring their advice to the individual need. No two instructions are ever the same.
