Funds Paralegal

A Funds Paralegal is required for a rewarding opportunity with an International law firm. The role will be based in Hong Kong and offers an excellent salary and benefits package.

My client first opened its doors in Hong Kong over twenty years ago and since then they have gone from strength to strength building an international client base working across Hong Kong, China and really the entire Asia Pacific region. You will be joining a team of highly capable legal experts who advise in Cantonese, Mandarin and Japanese and so with this in mind it is anticipated that you will be a native Mandarin and Cantonese speaker. With half a dozen other office locations globally their expertise in Hong Kong primarily lies in Corporate and Financial legal services, and specialist Fiduciary and Funds services.

You will provide support to the Funds Lawyers with the following Funds Paralegal duties…

* Responding to client enquiries to explain the process of incorporating companies
* Explaining to clients the costs involved in setting up entities
* Preparing formation documents for exempted companies; a variety of documents for submission to the General Registry; legal opinions; registers of mortgages and charges; and fee breakdowns and cover letters
* Drafting letters/agreements, minutes and documents
* Liaising with the Funds administration team
* Internal administrative work

I would like to see documented on your CV at least four years of experience of working as a Funds Paralegal at an International law firm. You will thrive in a pressurized environment and be well versed in handling a high volume of instructions from your Lawyers. You need to demonstrate to me you are flexible in your approach to work and always willing to learn new skills. You will think of yourself as very much a team player, someone who has self-motivation in spades and above all a strong sense of responsibility for their work. And finally, as with the majority of roles in Hong Kong, full fluency in both Mandarin and English is mandatory.
