Our client requires a Learning & Development Advisor is to assist with the implementation and roll out of the Firm’s new career development programme. In addition, the Learning & Development Advisor will be responsible for acting on feedback following Skills Academy courses to ensure training needs are being met across the Firm.
The Team:
The Knowledge and Learning & Development team consists of 22 people, and the Learning & Development Advisor will report to the Director of Knowledge and Learning & Development and Learning & Development Manager.
Other key liaison relationships are:
- Knowledge Development Lawyers.
- Knowledge Management Partners.
- Partners, fee-earners and Business Resources staff throughout the firm.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Director of Knowledge and Learning & Development and promotion panels in managing and assessing promotion applicants through the firm’s career development programmes, including delivering reports on individual candidates performance on the programmes; follow up on post course tasks and administering psychometric tests etc.
- Assisting the Learning & Development Manager in following up with delegates post course to monitor and ensure that the learning from courses is being applied in practice and results in ROI on the training.
- Assisting the Learning & Development Manager to design and develop quality learning content, materials and resources (including e-learning).
- Assisting the Learning & Development Manager to conduct training needs analysis, learning needs analysis and provide advice and training options to managers and staff.
- Recommend any adjustments to training courses and content.
- Research appropriate course material and develop new learning opportunities for inclusion in existing programmes and any new programmes developed.
- Establish and maintain close working relationships with internal and external contacts.

Technical Skills:
- Previous experience and qualifications, e.g. CIPD (ideally in a law firm environment) of working in Learning & Development.
- Computer literate with a good knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal – the role involves liaison with internal and external people at a senior level and internationally.
- Attention to detail.
- Organisational ability within a pressurised environment.
- Report writing and ability to synthesis information and feedback into clear data and recommendations.
- Experience of measuring return on investment.
