At easyJet, our significant growth and progression into the FTSE 100 has led to higher demands on our Legal team, reflecting the increasing sophistication of our business. Following a recent internal move, we’re now looking to recruit a high-calibre enthusiastic Junior Lawyer to provide support across the team and the business including Commercial and Marketing, Operations, IT and other departments when the need arises.

 

Key Deliverables:

  • Ensuring the senior members of the team are fully supported in the negotiation and drafting of commercial contracts, including marketing agreements, outsourcing, supply of services and white label agreements with Operations, IT or Commercial and Marketing teams (and other teams as appropriate from time to time).  Assisting with basic review and drafting of these agreements.
  • Supporting the team on Procurement projects, including providing end-to-end assistance on Requests for Proposals which may result in the selection and appointment of new suppliers, including assisting with the review of standard terms and conditions, or Company precedents to determine fitness for purpose, where appropriate.
  • Assist with ensuring that all commercial activities and marketing materials are in strict compliance with the company’s brand licence agreement with easyGroup IP Ltd.
  • Assisting with advising the Customer Services and Customer Experience teams on consumer issues.
  • Assisting with the provision of support and advice to the Marketing team on advertising campaigns and online compliance issues, including assisting with the defence of complaints made by the ASA, Trading Standards or similar bodies in Europe.
  • Assisting with the provision of advice and support to the Sales and Distribution team on sales, agency and distribution agreements, including drafting new precedents, competition and regulatory advice to sales teams and obtaining relevant market-specific advice in jurisdictions outside of the UK.
  • Periodic travel may be required.

 

Requirements of the Role

 To be successful in this role you will be a UK qualified lawyer from a leading practice. You will have developed excellent foundational skills in contract review as well as sound contract drafting skills. 

You will be an enthusiastic self-starter with excellent stakeholder management skills and ability to build strong relationships across the business. You will be keen to be exposed to the full range of in-house experience across multiple business units. You will thrive in a fast-paced environment with large volumes of interesting work. You will also have exceptional written and oral communication skills, time management and be an excellent team player. You will be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office.
