A Birmingham city-centre law firm are looking to recruit a Solicitor into their litigation offering. You'll be working in an established team for a mixed bag of clients including healthcare, public sector and commercial clients.

Client Details

This is a Legal 500 rated law firm, well known for its fantastic culture and morale amongst its staff.

Description

This role is likely to stand out to a frustrated Litigation Solicitor who is feeling like they are constantly struggling to make an impact in a larger team. You're very busy but client contact isn't great and senior colleagues are getting stuck into the quality work. You're probably working long hours and are getting little praise for the work you are putting in. Put short, it's not really a role that you can see yourself sticking at for another 1-2 years. But all private practices are the same so you might as well stay where you are, right?

We are working with a Birmingham based law firm, which is home to a lot of lawyers who have felt this way but subsequently moved to this firm and have a new-found passion for their area of practice.

It's a Legal 500 firm and very commercial in nature. So you wouldn't be compromising on the quality of work. You'd also be joining a small team - so plenty of chance to make and impact, deal with clients and recognition for your efforts from your peers.

The firm is well known in the local market for its different approach and attitude to the law. Staff feel valued, don't work the crazy hours seen often in the big corporate firms and, importantly, enjoy their job and can see real career progression.

This particular role, sitting within the litigation team, can offer you the chance to:

  • Work in a small and established team, which is very busy and works closely to get internal referrals from other departments

  • Service existing clients across a mixture of different sectors - from healthcare clients through to housing clients

  • Focus primarily on a commercial litigation caseload but with other contentious elements such as judicial reviews
  • Genuine career progression through to Associateship and beyond (the firm has a clear structure which they can outline to you)

  • Work in a hard-working environment but not an environment which requires you to work all of the hours in the day

  • Develop a name for yourself in particular sector specialisms - the firm is very focused on certain sectors and they can help you get up to speed with this quickly

Profile

To tie in with the quality of work and clients, it's likely that you have experience within a leading international or national practice and have the nagging feeling that you need to do something different at a different type of firm.

It's likely you have at least 1y PQE and a throrough working knowledge of the CPR and litigation process.

Job Offer

Competitive depending on experience, excellent culture.
