Brief Description of Role:

Kennedys are on an upwards trajectory and are seeking to recruit a junior fee earner for their Sheffield office.

This is a great opportunity to work on a high quality caseload for a variety of clients with a focus on Industrial disease, Employers' Liability and Public Liability work.

Team Information:

The national Liability Division at Kennedys is spread across our UK offices and advises on a broad range of liability claims acting for insurers, claims handlers and self-insuring corporations.

The Sheffield Liability Team deals with the full range of Defendant personal injury claims, including both trauma and disease.

Type of Clients:

  • Composite Insurers
  • Large self-insured Corporate clients
  • Claims handling organisations

Type of Cases:

The defence of Personal injury claims largely arising from workplace accidents.

Requirements:

Qualifications

Essential:
Good Academics.

Desirable:
LPC graduate, FILEX qualified or studying towards ILEX qualification.

Experience

No prior legal experience required

Desirable:

  • Defendant litigation experience preferably within personal injury (claimant experience will be considered).
  • Able to run own caseload with some supervision.
  • Small-track and fast-track claims experience.
  • Experience of arbitration and negotiation.
  • To have had previous client contact and attendance at business development events.

Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to apply a commercial approach to claims in order to deliver economic solutions.
  • To be proactive and take initiative.
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Ability to manage own time, excellent organisation skills.
  • Strong technical and research skills.
