Our client, a reputable asset management firm is recruiting a funds lawyer / funds legal counsel to cover an internal secondment for 12 months. The role is reporting to the Head of Legal and assisting the other legal counsel within the team and the wider business.
Your primary responsibilities as a funds lawyer / legal counsel will include:
- Drafting and negotiating fund documentation, depositary agreements, commercial agreements with suppliers, distribution agreements, platform agreements, investment management and advisor agreements, broker terms and other investment related agreements
- Liaise with external counsel
- Fund documentation review
- Practical application of the FCA handbook
The Candidate:
- The successful funds lawyer / legal counsel candidate will be 5 years + PQE* funds lawyer / legal counsel with experience gained either in-house and in private practice.
- Experience drafting and negotiating commercial agreements, distribution agreements and general commercial contracts is essential
- Broader Funds specific experience is desirable but not essential
*Candidates outside of this bracket will be considered if they are able to demonstrate the prerequisite experience required.
