In House Legal Counsel - Insurance
A leading insurance solutions provider is seeking an experienced IP Lawyer to join their underwriting team. Reporting into the Managing Director, this role will include IP work including, work relating to marketing, IP underwriting and taking a lead role in dealing with warranty and indemnity products for the EMEA regions. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with at least 2 years* experience as an IP lawyer who is looking to take their next challenge within a global company.
Daily duties and responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
- Implementing the IP underwriting and marketing strategy for Warranty & Indemnity insurance relative to IP risks located in wider EMEA region.
- Preparing and negotiating intellectual property agreements and infringement opinions.
- Conducting intellectual property due diligence, providing guidance for IP litigation if required.
- Marketing products by regarding Warranty & Indemnity insurance to brokers, law firms, other transaction related professionals through presentations and attending conferences.
- Informing the underwriting committee, the Managing Director and in-house lawyers of the IP risks and issues.
- Drafting, preparing and negotiating policy wording, maintaining accurate records of policies
The ideal candidate will be a qualified lawyer with expertise in IP either within private practice or in house. You must also be able to demonstrate strong interpersonal skills with an acute grasp on Intellectual Property rights. This role may involve some travel to Europe on an ad hoc basis.
