THE FIRM
A leading international shipping and energy disputes team within a highly regarded commercial firm.
THE ROLE
To provide legal expertise on complex commercial litigation disputes (Court proceedings and international arbitrations) and advises on contract wordings.
Your role will consist in advising and acting for ship-owner and ship yard clients as well as clients who mainly trade gas (LNG), oil and coal, with associated shipping type disputes. There will also be some scope for contract drafting and broader advisory work.
Clients you will be working with are engaged world-wide in the transportation, trading, and insurance of goods and commodities, the construction and design of ships, and the offshore industry.
Key Responsibilities
The role will be varied and include:
Commercial court arbitration work for multi-jurisdictional disputes in shipping and international trade. Acting as an Associate to a Partner or in a team of Associates on large, often technically complex and multi-jurisdictional cases.
Liaising with experts, foreign lawyers, Counsel, and clients as and when appropriate.
Undertake business development activities including article writing, participation in seminars, and general practice development work.
THE PERSON
* NQ-2PQE England and Wales qualified Solicitor
* Strong litigation experience during a shipping or energy litigation seat
* Excellent academic background
