An exciting opportunity has emerged for a corporate/commercial lawyer with a leading international logistics business. Reporting to the Finance Director, this role will work alongside senior management to provide proactive commercially and strategically focused guidance across the business.
The duties include:
- Review, draft and negotiate a broad range of legal documents including joint venture agreements, management services agreements, concession agreements, and M&A agreements. Assistance with transaction management, transaction documentation, risk identification and analysis
- Identify and analyse legal issues be they commercial, contractual, legislative or regulatory in nature arising in existing businesses and in new projects. Make clear and commercially focused recommendations in respect of such issues.
- Analyse material disputes, and determine and implement strategy to be followed in each case.
- Act as a liaison with external legal counsel and assist where appropriate in their selection. Provide external legal counsel with clear and explicit instructions. Oversee and review work carried out by external legal counsel and maintain strong links with external legal counsel.
- Contribute to the continuous business improvement process and to the meeting of business objectives;
- To be an ambassador for the company at all times internally and externally;
Candidates must be qualified lawyers with specialist knowledge of cross-border corporate and commercial transactions, and extensive experience of managing transactions through to completion. Ideally, expertise in international infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator with the ability engage with effectively with stakeholders. A second European language (particularly French or Russian) advantageous but not essential.
