Litigation Funding Lawyer - London £100k+

This opportunity offers a commercially driven individual the gravitas to take a career change and join a global litigation funding business. This role is perfectly suited for an exceptionally well connected City litigation lawyer to utilise their legal network in order to provide litigation funding for cases worth multi-millions. In return, he/she will be significantly rewarded with an excellent base salary and a 2 their commission structure for generating new business and sustaining strong client relationships. This is a great opportunity to have a role which takes you away from the pressure of fee earning and being tied at your desk where you can focus on the delivery and execution of business development, case review and case monitoring.

The Role
You will provide recommendations to the investment committee as a key part of the decision whether or not to fund a case. You will monitor the case pipeline and carry out commercial negotiations with clients and lawyers. This role will give you a great commercial insight into the running for a global business where you will liaise with internal and external counsel on the company's underwriting and case selection process. You will have close involvement with the in-house marketing/creative director to identify and pursue key targets as well as to further develop and implement the firm's brand.

The Candidate
The successful candidate will be from a top their London litigation practice with an evidential network of excellent commercial and professional connections within multiple sectors. An ideal candidate would be a litigation associate close to partner track facing the realisation of not wanting to pursue his/her career path. Although this role is more leaned towards an in-house opportunity, candidates must show a real drive and enthusiasm for business development, clearly be driven by success and keen to generate fees for personal financial gain. All candidates should have proven business development skills and are likely to be at a senior associate or counsel level. Those at partner level will also be considered as the earning potential is far greater than the traditional Private Practice salary structure.

All candidate applications will be retained in complete confidence, for an initial conversation please contact Liam Taaffe at GMK Legal.
