Commercial Paralegal

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Commercial Paralegal to join the busy General Counsel Office team, based in Northampton. You will be joining a highly motivated team of 9, where you will provide legal and administrative support to the in-house legal team. With your excellent communication skills, you will provide commercial and pragmatic legal advice to the business on specific legal matters under supervision.

Duties:
Legal Support

• Manage and complete agreed Commercial Legal team projects and wider General Counsel Office projects.
• Assist with/manage branch queries/low value claims and complaints.
• Carrying out legal research.
• Assist with drafting and advising on certain contracts and Terms & Conditions.
• Prepare materials for presentations.
• Support specific work areas ranging from data protection to subject access requests.
• Management of updates to precedents and guidance notes, under supervision of lawyers.
• Review claims and advise on these claims, under supervision of lawyers.

Admin Support

• Manage Legal Inboxes (including General Legal inbox, Data Protection inbox and others as required).
• Answer queries via telephone and 'triage' calls to relevant members of the team/group.
• Manage the sage archive of Commercial Legal team original documents and other scanning requirements.

What Are We Looking For?
You'll already hold a Law Degree, Chartered Legal Executive or equivalent qualification and will be able to put your legal knowledge into practise on a daily basis. With your excellent communication skills, you will build relationships within the business, ensuring you tailor the technical legal advice to the relevant audience. Your legal/law knowledge and IT literate skills will be vital to our success. This is a fast paced but welcoming environment, and you should be able to demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills.
