Commercial Counsel

A multi-national business with offices in Bracknell is looking for a Solicitor to join their In-house legal team on a permanent basis. The role would be ideal for someone more than 6 years' PQE with a background in negotiating and drafting a variety of contracts, and ideally significant experience In-house. You will work with colleagues across the world, support and coach more junior colleagues, and be part of a collaborative team that drives the business forward. This successful business has revenues approaching $8 billion and has more than 100,000 customers worldwide across a variety of markets. The In-house legal team provides support across all business units in the EMEA region, and work closely with other business units and Legal colleagues based in the USA. The team of 5 in the Berkshire office works very collaboratively and the successful candidate will report into their Senior Counsel, whilst also having responsibility for coaching more junior members of the team.

The role will involve; reviewing, negotiating and drafting a range of commercial contracts (sales agreements, NDAs, credit terms & conditions, distribution agreements, IT agreements, etc.), advising on real estate leases, advising the business on any litigation across the EMEA region, advising the business on data protection and compliance, providing training to colleagues across the business, working with and managing the budgets for external legal counsel, and assisting colleagues in the legal team in the USA.

Applications are invited from Solicitors, ideally with more than 5 years PQE that can demonstrate commercial acumen. It is preferred that candidates have some experience In-house, however the business are flexible on industry experience and background. Candidates must be comfortable working with senior colleagues across the organisation and will have strong negotiation and communication skills.
