THE FIRM

A global law firm which despite its size, prides itself on remaining collegial.

THE ROLE

The firm is now looking to recruit two Associates with 3-5pqe for the IT/Commercial team although will consider those with less pqe.

The highly ranked IT/Commercial team advises on a vast range of non-contentious and contentious IT and commercial matters in addition to a well established data protection practice.

Matters range from major sourcing and other IT transactional agreements to a variety of e-commerce and new media issues such as content procurement, content distribution and licensing agreements and general commercial advisory work.

Working as part of the IT/Commercial Contracts team, the two roles will have the following focus:

(i) the first role should be a candidate who is prepared to work on a wide range of technology and commercial contracting and advisory issues, but will have a particular focus on transactional technology and outsourcing work (and should have good transactional experience working on either the customer or supplier side); and

(ii) the second role should be a candidate who has a track record of working on commercial pharma / healthcare deals, with a real interest in that industry and ideally with a good level of regulatory expertise in the sector. Experience in data protection, particularly related to the pharma / healthcare sector would be an advantage.

Both roles will also assist with business development activities and candidates should be "self-starters".

It is very likely that the candidates will be offered in house secondment opportunities with clients, many of whom are leading technology industry players or major users of IT services.

ABOUT YOU

With strong interpersonal skills you will have a strong academic background and be a solicitor with experience of working on contracting and advisory issues in IT, outsourcing and data protection with, ideally, experience in contentious / pre-contentious matters.

A strong team player with a "client first" mentality you will have a strong interest in business development and willingness to explore in house client secondment opportunities as part of the same.

Lipson Lloyd Jones Ltd is acting as an Employment Agency in relation to this vacancy. Please note our advertisements use PQE levels purely as a guide to the minimum level of experience required. However we are happy to consider applications from all candidates who are able to demonstrate the skills necessary to fulfill this kind of work.
