EMEA Data Protection Officer - Tech Startup - London

My client a challenger to the global payments industry seek to appoint an EMEA Data Protection Officer

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following;

• Develop, implement and enforce suitable and relevant privacy and data protection programs (GDPR), policies, and procedures ensuring that these are compliant with applicable privacy laws.
• Develop and maintain privacy risk assessments.
• Develop, present, and track relevant training in coordination with the Training Manager.
• Maintain and establish a register of data owners for sets of information and educate the data owners on their responsibilities.
• Oversee and assist in investigations into complaints about privacy breaches and undertake reporting/remedial action as required. Maintaining a log of any incidents and remedial recommendations and actions.
• Creation of data breach action/response plans.
• Lead contact with regard to potential complaints and breaches, ensuring that requests for information are properly handled.

Requirements

• Graduate degree or compensating experience in privacy management role.
• Previous privacy management experience of 6+ years.
• Thorough understanding of privacy programs across multiple jurisdictions.
• A good working knowledge of Information Security.
• Team player adaptable to fast-paced, changing, and international environment.
• Ability to manage tight processes, accuracy and attention to detail.
• Highly disciplined person, self-motivated, and delivery focused.
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
• Excellent time management skills - Be able to organize and meet monthly, quarterly and annual.
