Interim Head of Legal required for an initial 6 month period to join a Local Authority based in Dorset.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Head of Legal to join a local authority based in a beautiful part of the county, with a competitive salary of 400 - 600 per day.

The ideal candidate will Act as the Interim Head of Legal and proactively lead and develop legal issues within the corporate governance framework of the Council and provide advice and guidance on legal related matters.

The ideal candidate will ideally have the following experience:

  • A commercial outlook/approach
  • Significant experience of local government law across the range of Council functions at a senior level
  • Breadth of management experience
  • Good knowledge of constitutional and governance requirements, including dealing with complaints against Councillors
  • Significant negotiation and communication skills
  • Ability to work in and manage teams
