Contracts Lawyer required to join a University based in the North East for an initial 3 month period, with the opportunity of a permanent position.

This role is to join a well-respected and supportive team, to handle a caseload of mixed commercial matters on behalf of the university. You will be adapt at working without supervision and able to be proactive and provide coherent advice to those without a legal background. This is ideally a full time position however there is the option of flexible working hours or working remotely each week if desired.

The successful Contracts Lawyer will cover a broad range of legal areas including commercial contracts, procurement law and manage all aspects of contract drafting and negotiating with industrial, commercial and government funders across a range of projects, contracts may include:

  • Collaboration agreements
  • MTAs
  • KTPs
  • Research and sponsorship agreements
  • Licence agreements, confidentiality agreements
  • Copyright and Intellectual property matters

Whilst previous university experience is ideal it is by no means essential, and this role would be perfect for an in-house contract Lawyer looking to progress their careers and further develop their existing skill set.
