A fantastic opportunity for a Claims Handler from the Legal or Insurance Sector to join this well-established specialist insurance litigation practice and progress your career. 

Our Property Risks and Coverage team handles claims for a variety of Insurer Clients dealing with claims from letter of claim through to settlement or litigation to trial.

Our Insurer Clients generally provide Buildings and Contents cover to home owners and instruct us to pursue subrogated recoveries relating to a variety of insurable risks including, but not limited to Fire, Escape of Water, Flooding, Subsidence, Theft, Collisions etc.

You will work closely with both Insurer Clients and their Insureds as part of the claims handling process, providing advice, technical analysis, and dealing with the associated claims recovery process.

You will have the following skills and experience:

  • A good understanding of Insurance practices
  • Able to handle a large caseload, under minimal supervision, of predominantly subsidence cases for a variety of Insurers; 
  • Able to undertake research into Legal Liability and Quantum issues, preparing reports to Insurer Clients;
  • Able to demonstrate an up to date knowledge re Legal Liability and relevant Case Law;
  • Able to liaise confidently with Insurer clients and Insureds in relation to legal liability investigations and at claims settlement stage;
  • Able to review Quantum evidence and recommend settlement proposals to Clients;
  • Able to work with M.I. reports and prepare case reviews.

    You will have excellent communication skills both written and verbal, be strong in IT and be a proven team player with a positive, can do attitude and commercial, pragmatic approach.
