Private Client lawyer 1 – 4 & 5+ years’ PQE LONDON

Well-regarded Private Client department requires two Private Client lawyers – one of 1 to 4 years’ PQE and the other of 5 or more years’ PQE. If you’re applying for the junior to mid-level role, knowledge of UK Wills and Trust Law and a broad base of Private Client skills is required (ideally including drafting Wills, Trusts, and Powers of Attorneys). You will also be able to deal with Probate matters and the Administration of Estates along with having a good understanding of UK taxes, especially Inheritance Tax. Some knowledge of offshore elements of UK tax is useful but not essential; however, a willingness to learn these is essential. The mid to senior level role is a significant opportunity for an ambitious Private Client lawyer with experience in domestic high net worth Private Client estate planning and probate work. Working alongside two partners, the successful individual will be required to manage specific client relationships and will play an important role in the team. This is a busy department and candidates will need to be able to work to stringent deadlines, on their own initiative and effectively manage their workload with the necessary support and supervision.
