Regulatory (Health & Safety) Solicitors/ Barristers 1 – 3 & 6+ years’ PQE MANCHESTER

Commercial law firm in the North-West is seeking to recruit two Regulatory (Health & Safety) lawyers (Solicitors and/or Barristers) of 1 to 3 years and 6 or more years PQE. As part of the wider Litigation team, the Safety group act for clients across the whole range of health and safety matters, covering a variety of sectors, including manufacturing, construction, healthcare and retail. The team acts for clients being investigated and/ or prosecuted by the Police, Health and Safety Executive, Local Authority, the Environment Agency and other regulatory enforcement bodies for breaches of health and safety, product safety, food safety, road safety and related legislation. They also provide formal advice to clients in connection with corporate governance issues, such as directors' duties and corporate structure. They regularly advise clients on the potential civil and criminal liabilities of companies and individual senior managers. You will be supporting our corporate clients following serious incidents, including investigations, representation at interviews under caution, advocacy at inquests and defence of criminal proceedings. You will also be required to provide advice and challenge enforcement notices. If you are a solicitor you will either be a Health & Safety specialist or be a Regulatory law generalist with Health & Safety matters constituting at least part of your caseload. If you are a barrister, you must have undertaken a significant number of Regulatory (Health & Safety) cases.
