A leading Restaurant brand with an exceptionally strong worldwide brand is currently recruiting for a Legal Counsel on an initial 3 month FTC. There is high potential for this role to go permanent.

The successful candidate will be required to support the Head of Legal with cross functional accountability for ensuring legal compliance and statutory governance across global operating territories. The business has operations across the UK, Ireland, China, Hong Kong, Singapore and UAE. The successful candidate will be required to advise the group on all legal rights, obligations and privileges that relate to its management across its fields of operation.

Responsibilities

* Supporting Head of Legal with providing high quality legal advice to the Board on all legal matters pertinent to the Group and on contemplated actions that affect or may potentially affect the Group
* Advising the company on all legal matters applicable , performance of duties, contemplated actions and consequences of those actions
* interpreting laws, rulings, legal precedents and regulations for the Group
* Negotiating significant agreements and contracts into which the Group will enter
* Supporting Head of Legal with effectively reviewing and handling all day to day transactional business
* Manage relationships with external Counsel
* Supporting across Secretariat function and drafting agendas for Board Meetings
* Supporting across all Patent and Trademark issues including looking after Intellectual Property and Brand Protection Licences
* Ensuring legal compliance across the business


Candidate Requirements
* Applicants should have post qualification experience with significant experience across Contract and Commercial Law relative to the UK and various international jurisdiction

* Be UK or overseas qualified lawyer

* Experienced in pre and post transaction management
* Understanding local and international operational processes and structures
* Experience with legal issues across contract and intellectual property
