Childcare Legal Assistant
Childcare Legal Assistant required to join a large organisation based in Cambridgeshire for an initial 3 month period.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic paralegal who is looking to break into a childcare role, or for somebody who is eager to gain experience within a public sector setting. Our client is happy to consider applicants with any previous paralegal experience, providing they possess the ambition and willingness to learn.
You will be joining a team which allows it's legal assistants to undertake interesting work with an emphasis on ownership and managing their own cases. This role would be ideal for an ambitious Childcare Legal Assistant who wants to get stuck in to a busy workload as opposed to mainly handling administrative matters.
This organisation really takes care of their staff, offering a generous rate of pay which is higher than the average reward package for Legal Assistants within the home counties.
The successful Childcare Legal Assistant will undertake a busy workload, where duties will include managing a caseload comprising mainly of children's social care matters, although there may be the opportunity to enhance your skillset and pick up adults social care matters too. Additionally, you will provide support to Lawyers in the preparation of cases in courts and tribunals.
Alongside this, the successful candidate will assist Lawyers with their day-to-day workload and act as a point of contact on a variety of cases, which will involve the following duties;
- Taking instructions and giving advice
- Carrying out research
- Preparing applications
- Drafting documents and correspondence
- Commissioning and instructing expert witnesses
- Liaising with witnesses
- Attending meetings
- Providing advice and representation in courts or tribunals
The ideal candidate will be an experienced Childcare Legal Assistant, who is able to work under their own initiative and prioritise large volumes of work.
