An existing opportunity for a paralegal and Compliance Assistance has arisen. A suitable candidate will assist the Chief Compliance Officer and General Counsel of Astra Asset Management UK Limited to ensure the firms and its affiliates meet it and their regulatory compliance and corporate governance obligations as well as assisting with the preparation of legal and transaction documentation for a wide range of business development projects.
Astra was incorporated in August 2012 with an initial focus on structured credit investment management. Astra is authorised and regulated as an investment manager by the Financial Conduct Authority and is authorised as an exempt reporting advisers with the US Securities and Exchange Commission.
You will be responsible for assisting, General Counsel and the Chief Compliance Officer in discharging the legal and regulatory obligations of Astra Asset Management UK Limited. You will be assisting Astra Asset Management UK Limited and its affiliates acting as corporate secretary, liaising with clients, potential and prospective investors and assisting in the compilation and completion of regulatory returns.
You will be responsible for preparing legal research on a wide range of topics including legal and regulatory compliance obligations, rules of evidence, court procedures, corporate governance and assisting and preparing documentation and caseload files in connection with contentious and quasi contentious matters as well as assisting in preparing Memoranda for Business Development Projects.
The candidate should ideally have a law degree or similar equivalent professional qualification. This is a great opportunity for a paralegal to gain multi-jurisdictional experience in a diverse and challenging environment, gaining legal and transactional experience with a boutique investment manager. You will receive a salary based on experience with the prospect of an additional discretionary bonus contingent on performance.
