Part-time legal counsel job in central Bristol

Your new company
This award winning multinational company are one of the fastest growing companies in their industry. They have an excellent fixed term contract opportunity for a legal counsel to join them on a part-time basis for 6-9 months. The role is predominantly dealing with a range of commercial contracts and issues and representing the business in ensuring the effective handling and successful resolution of all disputes and negotiations, but will also include involvement in other legal matters. As a vibrant and growing company, my client are seeking a capable lawyer who will thrive in an autonomous position; you will be expected to provide legal and compliance advice to the UK business support areas for the company.

Your new role
This is a part time role and the company are willing to be extremely flexible and can fit the role around you. Although they envisage the role as 3 days a week, you can work the role around school drop off and pick up times or work over 5 days.

Your main duties will include:

  • Advising on general commercial contracts such as IT services, IP licensing, telephony, property, data protection issues and confidentiality agreements;
  • Advising the insurance claims team in relation policy claims;
  • Advising the complaints team in relation to complaints;
  • Advising senior management on legal and regulatory developments that may affect the business;
  • Advising in relation to company law issues and company secretarial matters;
  • Working closely with compliance staff within the department in relation to regulatory compliance issues;


What you'll need to succeed
You will be a UK qualified solicitor and will have previous experience as a commercial contracts lawyer in a multinational company or recognised law firm. Financial services regulatory and insurance experience is desirable but not essential.
