THE ROLE
You will be advising local authorities and other public bodies undertaking projects in collaboration with local government. You should therefore have an excellent grasp of local government processes, policies and procedures and the appropriate regulations and compliance issues.  You should have a commercially-astute approach, with an understanding of joint venture projects and alternative business structures.  It is envisaged that the successful candidate will have demonstrable experience in a similar role, with a good client base of contacts and existing strong relationships with local authority providers.  Additionally, this is a managerial role within the firm, and you should be confident in controlling budgets, recruiting, training and supervising staff, and ensuring that the department meets all required levels of compliance and client care. THE CANDIDATE
You will:-
Be a solicitor of at least 5 years PQE, with demonstrable experience in a similar role;
Possess specialist related experience, for instance assisting with complex cross-team ventures or running complex court cases;
Have first-class communication skills and previous substantial managerial experience;
Possess excellent time-management skills;
Possess a high level of technical expertise, with the ability to advise and support colleagues at all levels;
Be a real team player, flexible, adaptable and approachable.
