This client is a leading American law firm with 20 offices around the globe employing over 1200 lawyers. The London office is their European hub and is a vibrant and busy place to work.
They are currently looking for some to join their Accounts team. This is a great opportunity to advance a career in Legal Finance.
Responsibilities
Responsible for the client and office payment functions as well as review and manage the client account balances
Manage Counsel payments, company card and key supplier relationships
Approve and transmit client and office account payments
Ensure daily reports, checks and reconciliations are completed
Check and verify the monthly bank reconciliations for the client and office accounts
Review and approve vendor payments and Chrome River expenses for the weekly processing runs and ad hoc payments as required
Assisting in the production and submission of VAT returns
Review, improve and document the accounting systems internal controls and processes
Manage and develop the accounts payable team to ensure they are appropriately trained and supported to develop to their full potential
Support day to day accounting for the Properties company
Ensure finance policies and best practice principles are adhered to throughout the Accounts function
Responsibility for SRA, AML and ABC compliance by the Accounts team and ensuring all staff are fully trained
Candidate Profile
Proven staff management skills and a pro-active approach to management and mentoring, able to work well with others under pressure
Experience within a Partnership (essential), proven ability to win the confidence and respect of Partners, colleagues and all levels of staff throughout an organisation
Experience within a law firm and ideally experience of working with client money
A team player who is well organised, enthusiastic and has excellent attention to detail
Experience of Elite would be advantageous (particularly 3E)
Highly proficient in Excel, with analytical and reconciliation skills
Ability to be adaptable and flexible to deal with changing requirements and timescales, and keen to take on responsibility
Proactive in identifying opportunities, with the energy and enthusiasm to manage new initiatives, challenge the norm and strive towards excellence and innovation
