A new key role for an experienced Patent resource, eager to work on legal assignments and support the patent paralegal team. A role offering variety and responsibility at one of the leading Patent practices in London.
Specifically the role will undertake the secretarial duties for the Head of the Legal & Assignments team together with assisting the Patent Paralegal in recording registrable transactions effecting patents in all countries worldwide.
Key Responsibilities
Noting new instructions from clients and acknowledging receipt
Booking on new cases to Inprotech with relevant dates
Drafting assignment documentation according to National Law
Obtaining cost estimates from Charging and forwarding to client
Prepare Charging fee sheets
Checking and monitoring Official Registers worldwide for applicant details
Preparing and filing requests at the EPO/UKIPO/WIPO for recordal of a change of applicant or current applicant details
Instructing local agents and monitoring for status updates
Sending of DHLs and monitoring receipt
Preparing invoice requests and charging to client
Noting and reporting recordal to the client
Notifying Fee Earner on patent file where necessary
Updating Inprotech records where necessary
Generating reminders for the Patent Paralegal and issuing to clients where necessary
WIP Management
Prepare faxes
Key Skills and Experience
Previous Patent experience essential
Ability to work using own initiative and prioritise own workload
Excellent written skills with the ability to compose own correspondence and assignment documentation
Strong oral communication, coupled with the ability to create and maintain effective working relationships at all levels of the firm
Highly self-motivated, organised and able to manage a varied and challenging workload
Able to work in a calm and professional manner
Able to work flexible hours and be able to work under pressure
