This leading litigation practice with stunning offices overlooking the Thames is looking for an experienced Legal PA to work for the Head of the Commercial Litigation Department.
This is a busy role, with the opportunity to organize your own day in a stand-alone position.
Main duties include:
- Typing correspondence, documentation, notes, reports, forms, taking minutes and drafting action points, spreadsheets, slides etc
- Communicating with clients and others on the telephone, via email and in person, responding to queries and assisting generally
- Being the first point of contact for the department, representing the team
- Organising meetings, conferences, consultations, mediations and membership renewals
- Carrying out organisational and administrative tasks such as copying, proof-reading, extensive file management (hard copy and email), diary and travel management, keeping aware of what's going on
- File opening, closing and archiving, maintaining client data and contacts database, updating departmental precedents
- Accounting: processing payment of invoices, time recording, assisting with the billing process, dealing with expenses, preparing statements of account including narratives, awareness of client preferences, charge-out rates, funding arrangements, money on account, credit control, collating financial data for monthly reports
- Assisting with marketing activities
- Co-ordinating departmental processes and events (appraisals, recording holiday leave, social activities, training workshops, continuing competence records)
- Undertaking a range of ad-hoc duties and projects as delegated from time to time
The firm is looking for somebody with excellent organizational skills, with the ability to prioritise a busy and varied workload and good knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
Extensive previous legal secretarial/PA experience in a leading London Commercial Litigation department/law firm is desired.
