Opportunity for an ambitious mid level lawyer to step up to a Deputy General Counsel position, supporting the UK GC from the London office.

My client is global Media Group with a strong footing with in the digital space. With a network of agencies beneath them, this Media Group has international reach and capacity. Supporting the UK, the Deputy GC - Media Agency will be part of the UK & Ireland legal team working with the UK commercial teams here in London.

Description

The Deputy GC - Media Agency will form an integral part of the UK Legal team. Supporting the UK GC, this role will be a commercially focused position whereby the Deputy GC - Media Agency will be responsible for forging relationships across the business with key stakeholders within the network of agencies. In addition, this lawyer will be expected to develop, mentor and support the rest of the team in order to provide a continually challenging and engaging work load.

Profile

The ideal Deputy GC - Media Agency will be UK qualified from a top Law Firm or In House business. This Senior Lawyer will be an integral member and leader of the UK Commercial legal team and have primary responsibility for delivering support and assistance to various UK operational divisions of DAN UK. This is a hands-on, partly autonomous and highly visible role within the business and the individual will work on a range of diverse, exciting and challenging projects.

Therefore, the ideal candidate should be:

  • C 8+years PQE*
  • Have a personal interest in media
  • Experience in technology agreements
  • Confident in developing a career in developing/mentoring/managing other lawyers
  • Be commercially-minded and have excellent communication and inter-personal skills to enable them to work with all levels of management and negotiate with external clients
  • Possess well-developed prioritisation skills given the likelihood of dealing with multiple projects at any one time
  • Be able to work autonomously and personally drive relationships
  • Be able to work well under pressure and able to professionally manage through fast-moving and complex situations
