One of Europe's leading rating agencies is looking to bring on a highly motivated and team-orientated Legal Counsel to join its team in the City of London for a fixed term contract of six months.

About the role

Reporting into one of the agency's Managing Directors, the Legal Counsel will be responsible for working with the businesses analysts in reviewing relevant loan/transaction documents and evaluating appropriate ratings for European CMBS transactions.

Key responsibilities

  • Evaluating appropriate ratings for structured finance transactions
  • Evaluating and managing risk with regards to legal aspects that may affect credit ratings
  • Engaging and managing local counsel, as necessary
  • Communicating the agency's criteria on legal matters to issuers and financial advisors
  • Monitoring legislative and case law developments and advising on changes as appropriate

 

 

About you

The successful Legal Counsel will be a qualified Solicitor and the client believes that the work would be well suited to candidates of at least 3 years PQE, although all applicants will be considered on merit.

You will have solid experience in structured or leveraged finance transactions and/or real estate finance transactions at a recognised law firm or as in-house counsel within financial services.

You will be fluent in either Spanish, German or Italian.
